Bright and blustery day – so we walked from the camp site along the John Muir Trail to the summit of Gouk Hill with amazing views of Loch Lomond, Ben Lomond and snow covered mountains beyond.

Beautiful track up through the forest with the sun shining through the trees. Dozens of trunks scattered like matchsticks felled by recent storms. The ground coated with fresh green twigs snapped from the trees.

Wrapped up. Windy, but the haze lifting a little to give the best view of the morning out across the loch. The path was quite busy with walkers and cyclists despite the relentless West wind.

Hot chocolate back in Herdy. Back before the rain started, snuggled up with a hot drink.
