A wet day, we decided to go for drive. Just to see the views. First to Luss, on the shores of Loch Lomond. Practicing manoeuvring in car parks. Remembered to buy two tickets, one for each space Herdy occupied. Visited the pier (wet and windy) and the Coach House coffee shop (dry and tartan).

Roads got narrower and so did the valley, before we turned left at Tarbet and headed to Arrochar at the head of Loch Long. The car park here was strewn with seaweed and other debris blown in on Storm Dennis. Loch Long is a sea loch a long finger of salt water that stops at Arrochar in the shadow of Ben Arthur (The Cobbler).

Followed the coast road south along the shore of Loch Long. Marked as not suitable for HGVs, but fine for our 7m van. We discovered on this section of the route how our Sat-Nav indicates unsuitable roads for a van of our size and weight (a little blue straight ahead arrow). Past the naval base at Faslane before stopping to cook poached eggs and rostis for lunch. Back to the site via Helensburgh.
