Facilities
This is a small independent site with 32 pitches & a tent field. It is a beautifully kept and well laid out on levels.
We judge sites based on owning a motorhome and this is a really good one. All pitches have electricity & water and the grey waste disposal is a proper sized full drive over grid so it’s easy to use & doesn’t matter which side your waste tank is on. The toilet and shower block were very clean and the showers had underfloor heating. The reception building has a small shop for essentials and some gifts and there is an on site cafe “Daisy’s” next door to the reception (open Friday – Monday). The reception staff were very efficient, helpful and friendly. You drive on, pick your pitch and then check in. It gets full at the weekend so booking is advisable (even in February).
Why stay here?
We chose this site as it had direct access to the Wye valley in the Derbyshire Peak District. We walked from the site to the Cheedale stepping stones without crossing a single road. The nearby Monsal Trail is great for cycling & hiking – our two favourite pastimes. All our activities can be found on our Komoot page.
